DescriptionIn today’s business world one now must deal daily with cross-border matters, including sending key people to other countries to work, meet with clients, and on vacation. However, with 9/11 the freedom of movement has changed all over the world, and Japan is no exception. This presentation will provide an overview and explain the recent amendments the Japanese government has made to its Immigration Control Act. To accomplish this a written outline of the changes in English will be provided and used by Mr. Nakai to explain the nature and significance of these changes, and go over how they will impact foreign personnel coming to or already working and living in Japan. Mr. Nakai will draw on his vast experience as a long-time immigration lawyer here in Japan to make the practical aspects of the amendment clear to those present. Mr. Nakai will be joined in this presentation by Marcus Kosins a US lawyer practicing immigration law in Tokyo who along with Mr. Nakai will provide the listeners with a general overview of the more important aspects foreign businesses coming to Japan need to know in order to obtain and retaining Japanese work visas for their foreign employees needed in Japan.
